This role is being offered with a hybrid work structure.

**As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for**:

- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions including weekly tobacco counts
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Preparing and reviewing monthly and annual corporate accounts, including consolidations and reconciliation of intercompany transactions
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
- Coordinating and preparing tax, statistical returns and other filings
- Maintaining, evaluating and enhancing the integrity of corporate accounting and internal control systems, accounting processes, accounting software, documentation, data retention and account management practices
- Planning, directing and coordinating regular internal financial audits and internal process control reviews and providing recommendations for improvements
- Providing management with insightful information to help drive profitable growth and expansion, and to ensure alignment with the overall corporate priorities
- Managing the budget process
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance including monthly reports for Statistics Canada, CESA, MARR, UOMA, PCA
- Coordinating activities for our annual external audit
- Providing leadership, support and direction to the finance team in all aspects of their role
- Facilitating opportunities for the finance team to develop and grow in their skills and responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration, from a recognized and accredited institution, Master’s degree considered an asset
- CPA designation or equivalent, preferred but not required
- Extensive knowledge and deep understanding of GAAP
- Previous experience as a controller preferably in the retail industry, being involved with inventory management and control is considered an asset
- Previous experience working in a multi-provincial organization, US experience considered an asset
- Intermediate to Expert level experience in MS Excel with the ability to create and work with complex pivot tables, ODBC with pivot tables
- Full-cycle accounting experience, including month-end process, year-end process and financial statement creation
- Experience with retail management systems - Magstar
- Proven track record as a self-starter who is willing to “roll up your sleeves”, step outside your sandbox when required, and operate nimbly to drive execution and to meet deliverables
- The ability to manage multiple deliverables to meet deadlines and goals in a dynamic, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
