**Contract Position**

The ICAA Research and Policy Development Analyst will serve Alberta. The Research and Policy Development Analyst will conduct urban First Nations, Metis, and Inuit rights holders, research to identify emerging issues, develop policy and initiatives, and determine policy positions and solutions focusing on urban First Nations, Metis, and Inuit rights holders. Responsible for supporting and attending community engagements and sessions. The Research and Policy Development Analyst must be an outstanding researcher and can review and analyze the cultural, socioeconomic, and political issues of urban First Nations, Metis, and Inuit rights holders. Must demonstrate a talent for building strong relationships between members, stakeholders, and organizations throughout Alberta and understand the different levels of government.

**Deliverables**
- Implement work plans.
- Analyze all initial documents and support final reports.
- Identify cultural, social, political, and socioeconomic trends and policies, and their impact on urban First Nations, Metis, and Inuit rights holders.
- Gather and analyze trends, emerging issues, and statistical information focused on urban First Nations, Metis, and Inuit rights holders.
- Maintain, update, and manage internal databases and documentation.
- Study federal and provincial policies and programs to assess the need for change
- Ability to recommend the best policy positions or initiatives using a distinction-based approach with a focus on urban First Nations, Metis, and Inuit rights holders through submission of policy perspectives, models, tools, and reports.
- Distribute information on programs and services.
- Attend community engagement and sessions to gather feedback and findings.
- Work directly with the Event Planner to coordinate workshops
- Attend ICAA committees.
- Work with the committees
- Develop, track, and submit proposals.
- Maintain and update the ICAA website.
- Attend team meetings as required.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Practical experience in an office environment.
- People-oriented, friendly, professional attitude, and suited to work in a team.
- Possess strong research, policy, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, schedule, and perform complex tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Resourceful problem-solver who takes initiative.

**Requirement**
- Vulnerable Criminal Record and Child Welfare Check.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and must have an own vehicle.
- Insurance up to two million liabilities and driver’s abstract.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
