The ministry protects consumers, oversees vehicle, business and land registrations, and reduces red tape to simplify processes for Albertans and businesses. Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager, Policy, Training and Engagement, the Senior Research, Policy and Planning Analyst will lead enterprise-wide procurement policy initiatives. Key duties include: Engaging internal and external stakeholders to support procurement policy development. Providing project management support and coordination for procurement initiatives. Developing communications and change‑management materials to support project implementation. Preparing correspondence, action request responses, briefing notes and presentation materials on behalf of the Unit. Contributing to policy, planning, environmental scanning and research frameworks that support decision‑making for policies and programs across the Government of Alberta. Using agility and responsiveness to handle emerging responsibilities while demonstrating excellent time‑management skills. Qualifications University graduation in a related field (public administration, business administration, public policy) plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience in policy analysis, project management, or similar. Equivalencies considered on a one‑for‑one basis (one year of related experience for one year of related education, or one year of related education for one year of related experience). Desired Experience or Knowledge Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management best practices. Policy development experience within a public sector environment. Experience with stakeholder management, including the development of communications and change‑management supports. Experience in research, analysis, and options development. Understanding of policy and program development and decision‑making processes (preferably in the public sector). Working knowledge of Government of Alberta procurement policies, frameworks and Trade Agreement obligations (e.g., Procurement Accountability Framework, Treasury Board and Finance Sole Source Directive).
