**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Embody Nelson’s Values & Principles, and aim to set an example for others
- Proficient in English (verbal and written) and Math
- Computer literate and comfortable with ERP systems
- Experience in supervising and coordinating activities of production employees
- Strong communication and leadership skills (mentoring, coaching. training Team members) and leading by example
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Have strong knowledge & experience with assembly processes and equipment (power tools)
- Valid forklift license
- Knowledge of all requirements of the OHSA and WHMIS
- Physically capable of doing the job; occasional lifting of up to 50lbs and extensive walking throughout the production floor

**MAIN DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES OF JOB**:

- Allocate labor to meet production demand
- Manage flow of work; pull from feeding departments and provide schedule for planning of subsequent operations
- Provide & verify training of new and/or existing employees
- Ensure quality assurance for assemblies in their area
- Review production schedules to ensure customer (internal or external) requirements are met
- Participate in safety and/or quality investigations to prevent reoccurrence
- Handle Non-Conformance, corrective action, or quality alert when defects are found in their area while keeping the relevant manager(s) & team informed
- Ensure equipment and productivity standards are realized
- Review shift productivity, to ensure that standards have been achieved
- Correct unsafe acts or conditions
- Conduct performance appraisals
- Suggest changes/improvements to working conditions and use of equipment
- Approve daily summary of hours worked for employees and report to HR for payroll processing
- Conduct daily work area/work cell meetings (“stand-ups”) and inspections
- Work with the team (Managers/Supervisors/Lead hands) ensuring that resources are shared when required to meet deadlines
- Flexible in the hours worked depending on customer expectations
- Utilize effective Housekeeping Practices

Regular working hours are consistent with our plant schedule - 8.00 am to 4.30 pm - Monday to Friday including a Lunch break of 30 min. As a salaried person, flexibility is expected up to 44 hours / week, when justified by variable workload.
