**Job Summary**

Sourcing and ordering materials through suppliers, controlling inventory levels for parts and materials, receiving deliveries from suppliers, entering supplier invoices into computer system, issuing purchase orders, costing completed work orders based on materials used.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, we have an immediate need for a seasoned Maintenance Purchaser/Planner. The key aspects of this role are directing and coordinating the procurement of goods and services to meet the day-to-day manufacturing activities. You will engage in purchasing and logistics of materials, equipment, and supplies. In addition, you will manage assigned vendors as well as meet specific cost and logistics targets. You will also be involved in planning activities for the maintenance department and managing these through our Central Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

**Duties**
- Manage vendor relationships. Negotiate pricing, terms/conditions, and delivery; communicate and coordinates corrective actions for material/components for quality issues.
- Monitor and where necessary, expedite material; recommend solutions when overdue receipts will cause manufacturing issues.
- Recruit and maintain high quality product/service suppliers that offer better pricing.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices.
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
- Oversee activities related to procurement of a commodity, from request-for-quote to purchasing, to delivery.
- Coordinate the return of non-conforming material/components to vendors; negotiate reimbursement and/or replacement.
- Work closely with scheduling, production, sales order ensuring an efficient flow of materials/components.
- Manage and improve the implementation of our CMMS, for the planning of work (PMs, Work orders) and inventory management.
- Improve automation of the PM/WO generation system.

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**:

- 5+ years in a similar role preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Post-secondary education/training in Supply Chain Management/Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or working towards this certification is an asset.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and cost-reduction techniques; complex/multi-level bills of material experience is an asset.
- Familiar with all aspects of purchasing domestic and imported products.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and comprehension skills, a strong aptitude for numbers, initiative, and quality results.
- Well organized and works with mínimal supervision.
- ERP-MRP system experience is an asset.
- Emaint. CMMS experience and Asset.
- Programming experience and experience with database queries such as SQL queries is an Asset.
- Must have solid MS-office skills, and specifically very high competency in MS Excel.
