**_JOB DESCRIPTION:_**
- Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager - Community Support Services Team and CCST Program Supervisor, the Mental Health and Addictions Clinician 1 delivers individualized clinical support using a strength based and collaborative approach to clients in the community. They support people with serious and persistent mental illness and addictions who require ongoing support to maintain optimal wellness. The Mental Health and Addictions Clinician is responsible for providing support with addiction and mental health treatment, comprehensive assessments, interventions, and provide education that address psychosocial rehabilitation needs. They are an integral part of the interprofessional team, providing a clinical perspective and acting as a liaison and/or consultant to internal and external programs within the scope of practice. Key responsibilities include engaging clients in the service planning process, development and maintenance of goals, and providing community linkages as required. The Mental Health and Addictions Clinician identifies opportunities for and participates in quality improvement activity within the care setting._

**_QUALIFICATIONS:_**
- Education/Experience: _
- _Minimum qualifications include undergraduate degree and registered member in good standing with applicable professional college (e.g. Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Nurses of Ontario)_
- _
- _Specialized training and experience in mental health and addictions. _
- _Extensive experience supporting people with matters of significant substance use, mental illness, and securing social determinants of health. _
- Skills/Abilities:_
- _
- _Thorough understanding of all aspects of substance use. _
- _Demonstrated understanding of Northern and Indigenous approaches._
- _
- _Understand the importance of trauma informed practice through a cultural lens._
- _
- _Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. _
- _Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and healthy boundaries._
- _
- _Demonstrated understanding of community resources, services, and programs for this client population. _
- _Strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent time management skills. _
- _Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team._
- _
- _Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem solving skills. _
- _Demonstrated regular attendance at work. _
