**PROPERTY ADMINISTRATOR**

Reporting to the Senior Property Manager and the Executive Vice-President, you will be a key member of the Property Management team based on-site at a Private Non-Profit Housing Corporation located in the Markham area. The Property Administrator is responsible for performing the daily operations of the Non-Profit Housing Corporation through interactions with tenants, contractors, vendors, service providers, and employees. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
- Processing and depositing monthly rental payments (e-transfers, pre-authorized payments, cheques, money orders)
- Assisting the Senior Property Manager in rent calculations for Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI)
- Managing tenant arrears, payment plans and NSF payments
- Assisting in financial management by processing accounts payable/invoices, managing the petty cash and preparing the Annual Audit documents

TENANT RELATIONS
- Drafting tenant communications for review by the Senior Property Manager and ensuring that tenant communication materials are maintained accurately and up-to-date.
- Ensuring that vacant units are leased in a timely manner by listing vacant units with the Centralized Waiting List, showing, and leasing vacant units to applicants, performing credit reports for applicants
- Ensuring that tenants follow the Corporation’s policies and procedures

ADMINISTRATION/MAINTENANCE
- Maintaining office supplies and office equipment
- Supporting the community and assisting with various social programming
- Attending training sessions as required by the Region of York
- Working with contractors when the Senior Property Manager is not on-site
- Processing work orders in the maintenance software

BOARD OF DIRECTORS RELATIONS
- Attending and taking meeting minutes for Board of Directors meetings
- Preparing monthly reports on unit vacancies, market rent and subsidized units

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Self-starter who is able to work independently and as part of the Property Management team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage difficult situations
- Maintains a professional image when dealing with tenants in-person
- Access to a vehicle preferred, but not required
- Must be able to work 2-3 evenings and/or weekends per year
