Our Team
The Information Technology Services (ITS) Division is essential in supporting the wide range of services the Region offers its residents. You will join a team of 70+ talented, self-motivated technology professionals making a difference by delivering solutions that support the Region’s services.
- The Opportunity
As Project Manager, Information Technology Services, you will manage medium to large ITS projects and initiatives through all phases of the project life-cycle to ensure business solution functionality and performance objectives are met on schedule and within the approved scope and budget. This will involve leading multi-disciplinary, cross-departmental project teams, and developing project work plans, budgets, and staffing requirements.
What you will do
- You will have the responsibility of a team of internal project members and external consultants, and vendors. You will provide directions and assign priorities and schedules for multiple projects.
- You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining project work plans.
- You will bring your experience in maintaining project work plans, budgets, and project status reports.
- You will use your expertise to recommend purchasing new software, and equipment and participate in vendor selection, proposals, contracts, and contract negotiations.
- Employ your leadership skills including strong business acumen, exceptional communication, and human relations to prepare and deliver presentations, deliver complex technical information to staff, and advise and lead projects, and project teams.

- The ability to write project charters, work plans, and proposals while adhering to policies, procedures, collective agreements, and bylaws, while also considering technical publications, articles, and vendor information.
- Current knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Enterprise Document Management Systems, and other project-related software such as Smartsheet, Jira.
- Ability to travel within and outside Waterloo Region.
- Ability to adjust hours to work when systems are not in use, and resolve urgent problems.
- Ability to support and demonstrate the Region’s values.
