Social Media and Content Manager

Our client, a global financial services and digital payments company, is seeking a **Social Media and Content Manager.**
This is an **onsite 12-month contract**. You must be able to work in **Toronto, CA**. Hourly rate**:$44.14 CAD**, W2 + paid holidays through Talent Table. **No C2C.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Social Media & Content Strategy: Own the social media and content strategy for Canada, focusing on growing the Client’s presence and building an engaged community of business owners and decision-makers across existing and new platforms. Develop editorial calendars and content strategies, including influencer campaigns, for owned and earned platforms. Lead content creation, including original content, experimentation with formats, and seller storytelling.
- Engagement & Lead Generation: Use organic social media to drive engagement, brand perception, lead generation, and customer acquisition.
- Authentic Storytelling: Source and engage with sellers to tell compelling stories across priority channels. Develop content strategies that align with marketing goals and differentiate the Client from competitors.
- Campaigns & Collaboration: Work with the wider marketing team to bring campaigns to life across social channels. Collaborate with global teams to define social best practices and combine paid and organic strategies effectively.
- Distribution & Growth: Promote content through distribution strategies (paid, owned, and earned) to grow social and editorial channels and drive business goals.
- Content Marketing & Social Proof: Develop a social proof strategy and work with the broader marketing team to create full-funnel campaigns that align with business, product, and audience goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (Brand, SEO, Lead Generation, Demand Generation, Creative, Communications) and external agencies to create cohesive content marketing strategies and ensure consistent messaging. Work with cross-functional team to leverage content for broader Go-To-Market collateral.
- Metrics & Performance: Report on social media and content performance, tracking progress against key metrics and measuring the contribution to overall marketing goals.
- Financial Stewardship & Budgeting: Ensure budget proposals are data-driven and monitor spend, providing financial oversight for content and social media initiatives.
- Public Relations & Content Creation: Create content for public events, trade forums, and other communications (e.g., Op-Eds, speeches) in collaboration with the Communications team.
**Skills**:
- Social Media & Content Management: Experience managing social channels (e.g., Instagram, YouTube, TikTok) and creating digital content for brands or you’re an influencer yourself.
- Community Building & Engagement: Proven track record of building and engaging online communities, with an understanding of how content and campaigns must adapt to local audiences and cultures.
- Content Creation & Copywriting: Expertise in copywriting, creative development, and producing content across various formats. Experience in journalism or content marketing, with strong interview, writing, and editing skills.
- Technical Skills & Tools: Knowledge of tools like Google Suite, Asana, Adobe Premiere, Figma, and familiarity with content management and analytics platforms. Experience with some production and asset creation tools including Figma and frame.io.
- Analytical & Performance Insights: Proficient in social media and web analytics tools, with the ability to interpret performance metrics and turn them into actionable insights.
- Project Management & Operational Excellence: Strong ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deliverables across markets, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Passion for Social Media Marketing: A genuine interest in social media marketing, staying up-to-date with industry trends and platform news.
- Problem-Solving & Growth Mindset: Solutions-oriented with a growth mindset, adaptable to challenges and changes in both organizational and topical contexts.
- Attention to Detail: An eye for detail in all aspects of content, from copy to image edits, ensuring high-quality output.
- Curiosity & Commitment to Small Businesses: A genuine curiosity and passion for helping small businesses succeed.
- An understanding of paid social
- Relationships with / an understanding of the small business community in Canada
- CA specific: Bilingual - French & English
