We are seeking a technically strong **Waste Management Leader **who wants play an active role in growing our waste management team to leverage GHD’s significant experience in new and innovative technologies in waste management.
**Responsibilities**
- Establishing long-lasting client relationships with municipal and private clients and prospects
- Working with the Regional Business Development Manager to build the business in the Northwest to
- Lead proposals for new projects
- Lead waste management projects on time and budget for municipal and private clients requiring permitting, operations support, detailed design, construction management and inspection, and environmental studies
- Lead GHD’s waste management projects including planning and design of composting facilities, anaerobic digestion facilities, landfills, transfer stations, composting facilities, material recovery facilities, transfer stations, renewable natural gas projects and waste to energy projects.
- Work with GHD’s waste management planning team to undertake the technical components of master plans
- Own the preparation of technical reports and complete peer reviews of designs completed by others in the Waste Management group
- Effectively communicate and connect with existing and prospective clients
- Complete regulatory conformance reviews
- Undertake liaison activities with regulators
- Provide mentorship and leadership to intermediate and junior technical staff across our offices in Western Canada
- Provide internal leadership in the growth and direction of the North American Waste Management Team
**Qualifications**
- 15+ years of experience in the solid waste industry
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a consulting role
- 10 years' experience in a business development role
- Engineer, scientist or planner
- Valid class 5 drivers' license with driving record in good standing
- Willingness and ability for overnight travel and to conduct field work
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to work in a highly-skilled and diversified project team
