**Job Title: Accounting Supervisor**
**Immediate Manager: Controller**
**Department: Finance**
**Position Term: 18 month maternity leave contract**

**Summary**:
The Accounting Supervisor will work in a fast-paced but casual environment and play a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by actively engaging staff in a wide range of customer service scenarios regarding accounting and the project information. The Accounting Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction by actively reviewing processes and maintaining workflow in the Finance department.

**Key responsibilities**:

- **Leadership**
- Manage accounts payable team (1-2)
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of AP weekly and monthly processes
- Work with department managers to ensure information is received by AP in a timely manner
- Manage vendor communications and help investigate when required o Manage reception (1)
- Ensure proper reception coverage on weekdays 8:30am-5:00pm
- Work with reception coverage team to ensure calendar is up to date and adjust for last minutes changes o General
- Provide overall support for Finance team for process, software, and other questions and concerns.
- Provide guidance and support to improve processes and efficiencies
- **Accounts Payable**
- Manage weekly payruns (trades, installers, overhead)
- Review AP run reports for accuracy
- Ensure vendor insurance and WCB requirements are met before payment
- Ensure proper controls for invoice approval are in place and met
- Review new vendor setups and credit reference submissions o Bill payments
- Process monthly bill payments through online banking
- Ensure related invoices are processes and paid within GP
- Process customer refunds as requested o Reporting
- Complete/review monthly aged trial balance
- Complete monthly AP reconciliations
- Prepare annual T5018’s

**Customer Deposits**
- Manage Deposits
- Enter deposits and reconcile customer payments daily
- Deposit cheques through online banking system and at bank branch locations as required
- Prepare monthly aged AR report after all deposits are applied
- Keep up-dated records of deposits and review monthly for aged deposits
- **General**
- Support Finance team as a leader and team member o Assist Controller with ad hoc reporting and other tasks as requested

**Knowledge and skills required**:

- Diploma in Accounting is required
- Degree or additional Post Secondary education in Accounting is a strong asset
- 3+ years experience in accounting and managing a team is required
- Strong understanding of the full cycle Accounts Payable process is required
- Strong understanding of account reconciliations is required
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. is required
- Strong time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Committed to improving processes and creating efficiencies
- Excellent communication and professionalism
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
