Job Summary
The Mental Health Worker as a member of the Child & Family Clinic possesses the clinical skill and experience to assess, plan, coordinate and provide treatment and support services to clients and their families. S/he functions as an inter-professional team member, providing a range of clinical services, including group, individual and family therapy, as well as community liaison and collateral work regarding clients of his/her caseload.
**Qualifications**:
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or equivalent discipline from an accredited university, with child and adolescent mental health training and expertise.
- Registration in good standing with the appropriate College or professional association, to comply with licensing according to hospital professional practice requirements.
- Minimum of three years recent and relevant experience in child & youth mental health services, with specific experience working with children, adolescents and families that present with severe mental health disorders.
- Demonstrated expertise in current mental health assessment and treatment methods with children, adolescents and their families.
- Relevant experience in a mental health setting - hospital experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to a family-centred / systemic treatment orientation.
- Ability to work flexibly in an inter-professional team model.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated critical / analytical thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to maintain, monitor and report on all data relevant to the Child & Family Clinic.
- S/he role models both professional and organizational core competencies.
