**COMPANION**

**Hourly Rate**:$17.00 to start

**Position Type**:Part Time, Permanent

- Good sense of humor
- Experience working with individuals living with dementia
- Experience dealing with responsive behaviors
- Creativity
- Friendly personality
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A passion for helping, enriching the lives of, and forming connections with seniors and their loved ones
- Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to engage and support the seniors you care for
- Excellent communicator, resilient, & able to adapt to changing situation
- Ability to deal with sensitive issues or situations independently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information
- Valid G class drivers’ license, valid insurance and willing to travel
- DementiAbility, Gentle Persuasive Approach and UFirst training are assets

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10-20 per week

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Silver Lights Senior Services is following all guidelines from public health in regards to COVID-19 safety and protocols. Surgical masks and other PPE as needed and proper hand hygiene is used at all times when working with clients.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kawartha Lakes, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
