**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Lakes and surrounding areas.
The position has been created to support the company owner and senior staff to
ensure we provide quality care to those in need.
Care Crew offers in-home support to help those who age well in place in the comfort
of their own home, as well as those in need of respite for a variety of needs.
You work well within a team, are respectful and approachable, and build strong
relationships.
You are calm during a critical moment, stay positive, respond decisively, and take
accountability.
The Companion will report directly to and with the Management team to ensure that all supports and needs are aligned.
The primary job duties and responsibilities include:
- Continuously observe person(s) and their environments.
- Communicate and demonstrate basic information by the pre-established Plan
of Care.
- Complete and maintain related records.
- Assist person(s) with activities of daily living.
- Perform delegated tasks delegated by an RHP in compliance with the RHPA
for which transfer of functional training has been completed.
- Assist with medication reminders.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray. (within the last two years)
- Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid Certificate.
- Criminal Reference Check and vulnerable sector check upon hire
confirming absence of a criminal history/record.
- A valid driver’s license, class G, a vehicle for which you are insured, and the
ability to drive within the Kawartha Lakes Region.
- A strong desire and commitment to making a difference in the lives of their
clients.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Alayacare is a bonus but not required. Training provided.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Solid time-management skills with the ability to self-prioritize tasks and
problem-solve.
- Experience working with clients with significant and complex care needs.
vaccination status per Public Health Guidelines.
- Experience working in the community is an asset.
- Possess a compassionate and flexible nature and a client-centered
approach to caregiving.
- Adhere to all policies, including confidentiality.
- Ability to accept verbal and/or written direction and perform delegated tasks.
- Ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of the job.
- Good interpersonal, communication & time-management skills,
- Prior experience with Dementia is an asset.
- Promote a positive and respectful work environment.
- Part-time positions available with shift work.
The starting rate of pay for Companionship is $19.00/hour.
The scheduled hours include but are not limited to:
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Must be able to provide a couple weekend available a month
Any unavailability of time regularly should be identified in the contract with the Senior
Management Team so that we can accommodate this arrangement.
We offer paid orientation. Some training is specialized as it provides staff with a
focused look at caring for people with dementia. The training we deliver to our team to
elevate their care and ensure we are doing more for our clients does come at a cost.
We want staff to be the best they can be, and we have asked that this investment be
redirected back into us and our clients. We will do all we can to make the work-life
balance successful.
The job is a physical, mental, and emotional role and will require one to be present in
all ways on the job. The importance of the Companionship role is critical to helping those in need
and our business. We need and want to create a business that supports those who

the working conditions.

Pay: $19.00-$23.05 per hour

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Every Weekend
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
- Weekends only
**Education**:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Class G Licence (preferred)
