Annual salary: $303,300 to $341,400

**Position Highlights**
As Executive Vice President, Operations, you’ll lead the team that keeps the lights on for more than four million people
across the province. The portfolio includes oversight for Stations and Line Field Operations, Generation and Transmission &
Distribution System Operations, Program and Contracts Management, Construction Services, and Distribution Design &
Customer Connections.

Reporting directly to the President and CEO, you’ll oversee the operation and maintenance of critical energy infrastructure,
ensuring BC Hydro reliably delivers safe, sustainable, and cost-effective electricity to British Columbians. This role carries
direct accountability for 3,000 IBEW, MoveUp, and M&P employees located regionally across the province, $300M in annual
operating expenditures, and $1B in maintenance and capital delivery.

Your leadership will drive operational excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic execution, setting the
foundation for BC Hydro’s long-term reliability and sustainability goals.

**What you'll do**
- Set the Strategic Vision: Lead BC Hydro’s Operations business group, providing executive leadership, governance, and

strategic direction.
- Oversee System Operations & Infrastructure Management: Contribute to safely and reliably managing our power system,

advancing grid modernization and preparing the grid for the future.
- Meet evolving customer expectations: Drive operational excellence and work collaboratively across business groups to

improve the customer connections experience.
- Deliver Large-Scale Capital & Maintenance Investments: Manage multi-billion-dollar budgets, ensuring assets are

upgraded, built, and maintained with operational integrity, cost efficiency, and long-term asset sustainability.
- Champion a Strong Safety-First Culture: Ensure safety in the field, embedding a culture of risk awareness and operational

discipline across the organization.
- Drive Productivity & Process Innovation: Identify and implement business process improvements, leverage technology,

and optimize contracts, to ensure teams are equipped to deliver growing workplans, safely and efficiently.
- Lead Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage internal teams, union representatives, Indigenous partners, regulators, and

government agencies, fostering alignment and shared success.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and adaptation: Inspire and lead a workforce that values collaboration,

engagement, and continuous improvement that aligns with the urgency of our province’s needs.
- Report to the Executive Team & Board of Directors: Provide business insights, track key outcomes, and align operational

strategies with BC Hydro’s priorities.

**What you bring**
- Proven Leadership: A strategic business executive with at least 15 years of senior leadership experience in a complex,

regulated, and unionized environment.
- Expertise in Large-Scale Utility Operations: Demonstrated success leading operational teams within a regulated utility

environment.
- Strong Background in Infrastructure Investment & Maintenance: Experience overseeing large capital and maintenance

budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic asset management.
- Proven Safety-First Mentality: A deep commitment to safety practices, with a track record of embedding safety culture at

all operational levels.
- Exceptional Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to influence and inspire teams, build strong union

relationships, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Advanced Business Acumen: Bachelor’s degree required (preference for Engineering); advanced business qualifications

an asset.
- Sustainability & Environmental Alignment: Experience in developing operational strategies that meet environmental and

sustainability objectives.
