Little House is a Christian Organization that is seeking mature, caring, individuals with appropriate education and/or experience who are interested in a full-time opportunity to work with children to assist with supervision and development. This position offers a salary with benefits, working with House Parents as a Child and Youth Worker. Driver's license (full G) and computer knowledge are required. Ability to keep accurate and up-to-date documentation, organized, focused on responsibilities, caring and respectful. CPR and CPI or PMAB will be required, but we will train. Post-Secondary Education is beneficial but not imperative as long as you have related experience working in a similar field. Experience with ADD, ADHD, OCD, FAS, Autism, etc., would be an asset. Located in Smithville, Little House is a residential care and treatment agency dedicated to meeting the needs of children with behavioural and emotional challenges. Permanent, full-time positions. Right now we are looking for individuals that are available to "live-in" the home for an average of 4 days a week but it varies. Little House Child and Youth Workers understand the impact that chronic adverse experiences have had on a child’s life. They take on the duties of a caregiver with careful regard to not only cause no harm, but to create safe environments, provide opportunities for secure attachment, develop a child’s capacity to regulate their own emotions, and assist youth to become resilient, and healthy individuals. The Ministry requirements are for a job related education and/or experience. Current police vulnerable sector checks, references, and health/Doctor's note will be required.
