**Special Event & Volunteer Coordinator**

To provide volunteer management and special event and expertise to a dynamic team of professionals who bring their dedication, talent and creativity to develop audiences and to generate revenue to support CKUA’s mission

Working with the Special Event & Volunteer Manager, department colleagues, and cross-department colleagues, the Special Event & Volunteer Coordinator takes a proactive approach to the planning, delivery, and administrative responsibilities necessary to support the tactical implementation of the Special Event & Volunteer Program. Your direct contribution ensures the consistency required to promote the CKUA brand and mission as a predominantly listener-supported, community-centric entity.

Your responsibilities include:
**Special Event Coordination**
- Plans, organizes, and coordinates events that support strategic objectives for audience development and revenue generation such as fundraisers, marketing initiatives and donor stewardship.
- Attends events to ensure seamless execution from set up to tear down and addressing any issues that may arise to ensure a positive brand experience.
- Maintains records on event activities, progress, and post-event summaries.
- Works with and guides volunteers and staff involved in event planning and delivery.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by the Special Event & Volunteer Manager.

**Volunteer Coordination**
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships with volunteers and staff, providing support as necessary.
- Supports recruiting, screening and assigning of volunteers.
- Maintains accurate volunteer files in the Better Impact database and ensures reporting requirements are carried out in a timely manner.
- Advocates for volunteers and volunteerism for CKUA and in the wider community.

You have demonstrated the ability to:

- Plan, organize, and deliver special events of various sizes and target audiences in alignment with desired strategic outcomes on-time and on-budget
- Exhibit high attention to detail and exceptional customer service capabilities that help to create meaningful and lasting impressions

Your attention to detail and ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments and resources are key to meeting the challenges of this role. In addition, you will have direct involvement in upholding the CKUA brand and values toward realizing our vision of a better world connected by music, arts, and culture.

Throughout your career, you have gained valuable communications experience and interpersonal relationship skills. As a team player, your interactions demonstrate a high degree of respect and sensitivity for community members and stakeholders. In addition, you are aware of our communications’ impact on diverse audiences, which is reflected in your thoughtful messaging and interactions with various individuals as a representative of CKUA.
