**LEGAL ASSISTANT/LAW CLERK/PARALEGAL FOR A PATENT, TRADEMARK AND LITIGATION LAW FIRM**

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Typing correspondence from dictation using precedents, internal mail merge documents and government forms;
- Preparation of batch notification letters
- Preparation of client invoices, Statement of Account and reminder letters
- Proofreading all documents;
- Preparing patent and/or trademark submissions for filing in the Canadian and United States Patent Offices; and
- Providing reception relief when required and
- Any other duties that may be assigned

SKILL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

- **Law Clerk, Legal Assistant, Paralegal Diploma/Certificate or equivalent experience;**:

- Exceptional ability to use a computer and computer programs including all aspects of Windows, Word, Adobe, Outlook and Excel;
- **Dictaphone experience**;
- Strong attention to detail, specifically spelling, grammar and formatting;
- Ability to use all business office machines including scanners, facsimile machines, photocopies etc.;
- Strong English communications skills, both written and verbal;
- Confidence to ask questions and the ability to utilize the information provided; and
- Willingness to learn.

Must have completed a Legal Assistant, Law Clerk or Paralegal program or have equivalent experience.
