**THE ROLE**
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading, mentoring and performance managing the Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator to ensure proper inventory is ordered on time, received and available for production. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for ensuring that all purchasing contracts are monitored, kept up to date, pricing accuracy, rebates accuracy and to drive cost reduction through vendor management RFP and other CI activities. This person will be responsible for recruiting, orientating, training, managing and motivating their team to achieve the results.
As the Purchasing Manager, you have a crucial role in leading and mentoring the Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator, ensuring the timely procurement, receipt, and availability of proper inventory for production. Your responsibilities extend beyond managing inventory to encompass monitoring and updating purchasing contracts, ensuring pricing and rebate accuracy, actively driving cost reduction through effective vendor management, Request for Pricing (RFP) processes, and other Continuous Improvement (CI) activities. Additionally, you play a vital part in the recruitment, orientation, training, management, and motivating you to Serve with Passion and empowering them to achieve exceptional results by contributing to a high-performing procurement department. By fostering supplier relationships, optimizing inventory management, implementing risk management strategies, driving continuous improvement initiatives, analyzing data, and generating insightful reports, you will help shape efficient procurement operations and contribute to the overall success and will Nurture Growth of the organization.
**SUCCESS**
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- College diploma or University degree; or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
- Procurement certificate is preferred
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of direct supervisory work experience in a larger scale food production facility
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of industry experience as Purchasing Manager in a larger scale food production facility
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and Provincial Safety Regulations
- Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Working knowledge with ERP or JF / MS NAV system experience an asset
- Strong command of English language (written and verbal
