**ABOUT THE JOB**

Marid Industries Limited is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in our Steel fabrication shop. The Maintenance team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities. This position requires a solid background in industrial maintenance and mechanical repair, with a focus on keeping the shop's machinery and equipment functioning optimally in addition to site equipment.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Preventative Maintenance**: Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment, including welding machines, saws, presses, cranes, forklifts, and other fabrication tools.
- **Repairs**: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across various equipment used in the fabrication process.
- **Troubleshooting**: Quickly identify and resolve equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime in production.
- **Inspection**: Conduct regular inspections of all equipment, systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- **Safety Compliance**: Ensure all maintenance work is performed according to company safety protocols, OSHA standards, and best industry practices.
- **Parts Inventory Management**: Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies and ensure availability of necessary components for timely repairs.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with the Production Manager and other staff to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules without affecting production timelines.
- **Facility Maintenance**: Assist with general maintenance of the facility, including the upkeep of lighting, plumbing, HVAC systems, and other essential infrastructure.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, including repairs, inspections, and parts used, to ensure compliance and track maintenance history.
- **Training and mentoring**:As our team grows there will be an expectation to assist in training junior maintenance staff if applicable.
- **Emergency repairs**: There will be the need for quick response times when there are emergency repairs needed to maintain production.

**SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPEREINCE**
- Proven experience in industrial or mechanical maintenance, preferably in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of welding machinery, fabrication equipment, and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of troubleshooting and repair for industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform repairs quickly and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations within an industrial setting.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physically demanding tasks.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a noisy and fast-paced environment with exposure to welding fumes and industrial machinery.
