**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking out hard-working and motivated individuals to join our Materials Technology Team as a **Junior Field Technician**who will assist materials engineers to evaluate materials and develop machinery and processes to manufacture materials for use in products that must meet specialized design and performance specifications.

The role will be joining our **Materials Technology Team**at our **Ottawa**location. You will join a team of enthusiastic and dedicated technicians while operating under the supervision and mentorship of our civil and geotechnical engineering professionals.

This is an entry-level contract position, but intermediate and senior roles are available based on your experience and technical certifications within this service line. Full-time positions are based on availability and seasonal demands.

**Responsabilities**
- **Solutions Analysis**:Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for routine inquiries.
- **Data Collection and Analysis**:Extract relevant data from information provided by others and input it into spreadsheets or standard formats.
- **Engineering Drawings**:Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to create engineering drawings for the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
- **Plant and Machinery Design and Installation**:Install plant and machinery to the agreed design under close supervision to meet specified operational requirements, organizational engineering standards, and regulatory standards.
- **Personal Capability Building**:Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- **Testing**:Perform a broad range of tests requiring detailed assessment, measurement, and judgment.
- **Operational Compliance**:Develop working knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work, adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards.
- **Product and Solution Development**:Support others by carrying out simple product development or engineering tasks, such as gathering data or preparing documents. Involves following established procedures.
- **Technical Troubleshooting**:Perform basic tasks in technical troubleshooting, such as identifying evident technical issues with equipment and experiments and assisting in basic diagnostic actions.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- College diploma in a Geotechnical, Civil Engineering program or a Civil Engineering Technology or Construction;
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Strong communication skills;
- CCIL certification or ACI level 1 and 2 certification for concrete testing an asset
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
- Team player, cooperate with other staff, willing to work nights when required
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines
- G Driver’s license and reliable automobile
