Reporting to the Production Supervisor of the Department (Sausage, Deli, Packaging, or Chicken), the Working Foreman is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure that the production process is streamlined and monitored, resulting in quality products that meet our Company and Customer standards. The Working Foreman is a leadership position that assists with the organization, supervision, and training of the production line employees. Position works in a fast paced, production line style environment, doing repetitive work.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accountable to streamline and monitor the production process.
- Operational knowledge and comprehension of all equipment.
- Daily set up of processing and packaging machines prior to operation.
- Troubleshoot equipment and perform corrective adjustments and minor maintenance to ensure production goals/quotas are achieved.
- Communicate with, monitor, and assist Production Operators and General Laborers to ensure production goals/quotas are achieved.
- Review and/or complete documentation/records to ensure accuracy and completion for Quality Assurance and regulatory bodies as required.
- Monitor production to ensure adherence to FIFO and production schedule.
- Knowledge of Company and Customer standards, to ensure conformance when reviewing products.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting potential food safety issues.
- Accountable for the effective supervision of department staff, including but not limited to;
- Train and coach employees in each position on the production line.
- Ensure employees are adhering to company GMP’s, proper food safety, and company Health and Safety policies.
- Recommend disciplinary action for employees as required, to the Production Supervisor.
- Accountable to adhere to and utilize Company policies and procedures, and HACCP regulations.
- Accountable to ensure a clean production area and a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors.
- Responsible to conduct safety observations and facilitate meetings as required.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned, including operator and general laborer duties.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Production Supervisor in their absence.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Mathematical, organizational, and leadership skills required.
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in food production is an asset.

**Working Conditions**:

- Physical Effort
- Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirement to lift, handle or carry material or equipment of a moderate weight.
- Physical Environment - Regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, noise and fumes that cause noticeable discomfort and/or some risk of accident or illness.
- Sensory Attention - There is a regular need to pay attention, by hearing or seeing, to what is happening in your surroundings.
- Mental Stress - There is some regular pressure from deadlines or other productivity standards. Work is somewhat repetitious.
