- Hydrovac Operator_
**Job description**:This project role is responsible for the safe operation of a Hydrovac by using either piggybacking techniques, or pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, and precisely expose hotlines that expose main pipeline.
Other duties required include:
- Responsible for operating Hydrovac trucks and equipment in a safe and professional manner
- Ensure customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times
- Set up and inspect bonding mats
- Complete all required paperwork within set timelines
- Ability to work independently and be an effective team player who contributes positively to the end goals of the team while maintaining excellent interpersonal skills
- Ensure all Hydrovac truck equipment and components are in good working condition at all times
- Perform pre and post trip inspections, follow company policies and procedures for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure units are operating properly
- Report any inefficiency to Supervisor
- Follow DRIVEN & Client policies and procedures while working
- Ability to follow directions and express ideas clearly in writing, and verbally
- While completing hydro excavation projects, the Hydrovac Operator will mentor activities of Hydrovac Swamper assigned to assist with excavation
- Hydrovac Operator will provide leadership and task delegation to the Hydrovac Swamper through coaching and mentoring to ensure employee skill development
- Ensure Hydrovac Swampers maintain standards and procedures
- Maintain and use appropriate PPE
- Any other duties as assigned
- Flexible work schedule to accommodate business needs
- Ability to work out of town (Bonnyville area).
LOA provided
**Minimum Qualifications**
Valid Class 3 license with clean driver's abstract
Min 4+ years operating tri-drive Hydrovac
Min 2+ years plant experience
Extensive experience operating a manual transmission, with direct experience on 18 speed vehicles
Demonstrated mechanical ability
Required to pass pre-employment screening for drug and alcohol testing
PPE: CSA approved steel toe boots/metatarsal boots, FR Pioneer Rain Gear/ FR coveralls/FR Winter Gear, Gloves, side impact hard hat/shield/muffs
