**Job Summary**

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for Good Production Practices (GPP) according to Health Canada and Good Manufacturing Practices within the company Quality Management System (GMS). Integrate, oversee, maintain and report conformance status in all areas.

**Role and responsibilities**
- Assess, interpret, and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable regulations and/or other governing bodies
- Manage employee training and assist in the development of employee training materials; provide ongoing guidance and training to staff on SOPs and regulatory compliance
- Oversee compliance with sanitation, equipment, and pest control programs
- Development, revision, and implementation of SOPs and batch records
- Assist in the review of final product testing and development of final product specifications
- Manage vendor approval and raw material specification programs
- Manage deviation/incident and Corrective and Preventative Action investigations and change control program
- Assess cannabis and controlled material test methods to ensure compliance for intended market
- Inform Department and management of critical regulatory changes, or potential gaps
- Co-lead Health Canada and/or other external audits in partnership with QAP
- Provide technical directive and decision making in partnership with the QAP
- Review and approval of all controlled documents related to product/process
- Assure the release of Cannabis Products according to SOPs for all markets
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance Specialist as needed to ensure effective Stability program
- Support product recall in conjunction with Quality Assurance, Control, and other stakeholders
- Stays up to date on technical Quality Assurance practices within the industry and abroad
- Maintain security and confidentiality of all aspects of the business
- Adhere to Health Canada Cannabis Act
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree in Science, Pharmacology, Medical Laboratory and/or combined work experience.
- Security cleared individual according to Canadian Cannabis Act and regulations preferred
- Currently or previously a Health Canada approved Quality Assurance Person or Alternate Quality Assurance Person (considered an asset)
- A minimum three to five years of quality assuranceexperience preferred, preferred technical quality with experiencevreleasing batches
- Keeps up with scientific knowledge, compliance andindustry demands
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to communicate with the department supervisors and workers to ensure seamless and transparent evaluation of in-process data and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to prioritize activities.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to maintain both physical and mental fitness and alertness.
- Position requires ability to work at various levels of height and move freely and independently throughout all areas and levels of the building (including climbing stairs) to work in areas of production, labs, offices and others as needed.
