**Heavy Duty Repair Shop Manager**

Our client is a reputable heavy civil general contracting company based in Kenora ON; with an affiliated sister company that operates a heavy repair shop which works on both internal and external clientele. The heavy repair shop specializes in all heavy equipment needs —including truck and trailer servicing and safety checks; welding and fabricating; and field truck services. They are seeking an experienced Shop Manager to optimize, grow and enhance their dynamic team.

As the Shop Manager, you’ll have the autonomy to lead the operation, ensuring safety, efficiency and productivity of the team, equipment, and processes. The role demands entrepreneurial spirit, strong leadership, and exceptional organizational, professional, and people skills to inspire and manage a high performing team.

The role demands an ownership mentality with a growth mindset. Someone who thrives on growing, coaching and mentoring a team, while constantly upgrading the best practices of the shop while building relationships with new and existing clients.

**Responsibilities**
- **Leadership & Management**: Lead the shop staff and manage equipment, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Recruit and retain high performing employees through coaching and mentoring.
- **Training & Supervision**: Train and supervise shop staff, providing guidance and feedback**.**
- **Efficiency & Quality**: Oversee production to ensure efficiency and adherence to quality standards for materials and products.
- **Relationship Building**: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and suppliers.
- **Customer Service**: Address customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns promptly and professionally.
- **Project Monitoring**: Track project progress to ensure deadlines are met.
- **Problem-Solving**: Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise.
- **Process Improvement**: Implement new processes and procedures to enhance operations.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed.
- **Adaptability**: Take on additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

**Required Skills and Experience**
- **Experience**: 5+ years as a Shop Manager or similar role in the construction industry.
- **CRM Proficiency**: Experience with Shop Management software is essential.
- **Licenses & Certifications**: 310T or 310S license would be considered an asset.
- **Industry Knowledge**: Strong understanding of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- **Organizational Skills**: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- **Leadership**: Strong leadership and team management skills.
- **Customer Focus**: Customer-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
- **Tech Savvy**: Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management software.
- **Communication**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- **Licensing**: Must have a valid driver’s license.
