LAKE CITY FOODS is looking for a **Quality Assurance Technician** to join our **Pet Food** team.

Summary

This role involves reporting to Quality Assurance Manager or designate, the QA Technician monitors and inspects Pet food raw material, finished products, equipment and production facilities to ensure compliance with the plant’s regulatory and customer expectations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Place a high priority on food safety in all regular activities.
- Maintain internal procedures and policies for making products that are risk-free for pets and uphold standards of quality.
- Perform daily monitoring, verification activities and swabbing.
- Perform Pre-Op & Operational inspections and line Checks including analytical evaluations by visual inspections.
- Assist with improving line efficiency and productivity by following continuous improvement methodology.
- Perform environmental monitoring and ATP swabs based on schedule.
- Assist with training employees on GMP and HACCP components.
- Participate and prepare necessary documents for internal audits, customer audits and GFSI audits.
- Inspect finished product labels for the production lines.
- Create samples list for lab and record the data.
- Identifies HOLD situations & isolates products.
- Tracks & gets sign off on master cleaning schedules on daily basis.
- Perform monthly GMP inspection and other inspections assigned by QA Manager.
- Collect daily documents and file accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by QA Manager.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor of Science or Diploma in **Microbiology/Food science**.
- Excellent and demonstrable understanding of HACCP and GMP’s.
- **1-3 years experience** in the QA role is must.
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge on food safety programs, GMP programs and Quality Systems
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High-level of visual awareness.

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

- Overtime pay
