Are you a seasoned well-versed individual with proven experience in construction? We want to hear from you The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects from start to finish with a focus on budgeting and scheduling.
Reporting to the Manager of Projects, or designate, the Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of a project, and manage several tasks to ensure it finishes on time and within the allocated budget.
**Relevant Skills and Knowledge**
- Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma / Construction Management Technology diploma or degree or equivalent training and experience.
- 10 years of combined civil construction experience in a project execution role.
- Proven experience in project management within the construction industry
- Proficiency in Bluebeam software
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with team members and stakeholders
**Responsibilities**
- Develop, manage and maintain detailed project management work plans, schedules (MS Project) and establish milestones
- Review contract documents to obtain a clear understanding of deliverables, which will ensure project work will be completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate, chair and participate in various project and site meetings, working collaboratively with the project team
- Develop strong client relationships and act as the main point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s goals and objectives
- Prepare and review all construction cost reports and forecasts looking for early warning signs of potential risk and developing effective plans to overcome/mitigate.
- Prepare monthly progress reports consisting of updated budget information and accurate cost to complete
- Review, manage and authorize sub-trade and material billings/ payments and ensure accurate cost coding
- Monitor trade progress and project schedule to compare baseline and provide recommendations for improvements when required
- Monitor the change management process, which includes identifying change events, submitting change notices, pricing and tracking change work, optional changes in project scope, and negotiating change orders with clients.
- Track project delays and ensure letter of delay are issued when required.
- Implement and manage site and public safety
- Liaison with clients, subtrades and suppliers for scheduling, coordination and pricing
- Investigate potential high-risk situations, provide solutions to the best interest of the project and company
- Develop cost saving methods
- Manage closeout of projects, ensuring completion of all deficiencies and resolution of any outstanding construction or client issues
- Liaise, train and develop project coordinators and support staff
- Leading by example ensuring Voyageur’s corporate health and safety program and control programs/plans are adhered to.
