**Purpose**

Contributes to the overall success of the FX Operations team within GWO in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The FX Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Foreign Exchange Operations Team. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring all relevant processing and maintenance functions are completed accurately, within prescribed timeframes, and in accordance with established departmental procedures.

**What you'll do**:

- Ensure all trades are recognized by trade counterparties, economic terms of all transactions are matched on, and all breaks are identified, reported, and resolved.
- Validate transactions and settlements within our FX system of record.
- Ensure smooth completion of the transactions processing in full adherence to the bank’s compliance policy, regulations and procedure.
- Generate and execute trade confirmations in accordance with the Bank policy.
- Ensure the trades are reconciled with external electronic trade execution and affirmation/ confirmation & settlement platforms.
- Responsible for being the first point of contact in providing excellent customer service by effecting insightful feedback and accurate analysis in a timely manner on all customer requests related to FX settlements and FX related investigations.
- Timely escalation and resolution of any issues.
- Investigate issues such that root causes are identified and appropriate actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
- Take responsibility for identifying any unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and must report and/or escalate in accordance with corporate policy and guidelines detailed in relevant operating procedures.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in controls, customer service, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
- Understand customer needs and maintain customer service standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, at both the operations staff and management levels, allowing for effective escalations and issue resolution.
- Ensure customer issues are identified, reported, and escalated, and resolution is coordinated with internal stakeholders and the relationship owners.
- Prepare reports for daily management review.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and payment instructions.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

**What you'll do**:

- Supports Global FX Operations Products (FX, Swaps, NDFs)
- Utilizes matching platforms FX ALL, MISYS, GTSS and Bloomberg
- University Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Capital Markets
