The Ditidaht Day Care offers multi age care for children ages 0-5. Our programs offer a vision of combining tradition with the tactics of modern education in order to provide our children with an encompassing future.

The **Early Childhood Education Worker** will work out of the Day Care at Nitinat Lake and will assist with the planning and implementation of activities for Ditidaht First Nation children, families and community to enhance child development as well as to collaborate as a part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that our children have access to the services they need. This position plays an important role to promote the early childhood stages of growth and development of the Day Care children within the Ditidaht First Nation.

The **Early Childhood Education Worker** maintains strict confidentiality in performing their duties and demonstrates the following personal attributes: Integrity, Respect and Unity, Trust, Honesty, Compassion, and Accountability.

Preference will be given to persons of Aboriginal ancestry.

**Education and Experience**
- Early Childhood Education Certificate or Diploma;
- Infant Toddler and Special Needs diploma an asset;
- Valid Licence to Practice with the Early Childhood Educator registry; and
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a daycare or other ECE environment;
- Experience planning and implementing curriculum and achieving outcomes an asset;
- Clean criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector required;
- Valid FoodSafe Level 1 certificate;
- Possession of a valid WHMIS certificate;
- Valid Child Safe first aid and CPR certificate as per the Child Care Licensing requirements;
- Class 5 driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and a clean driver’s abstract is required;
The **Early Childhood Education Worker** is considered a position of trust; therefore, a clean criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector required.
