The Maintenance position is responsible for the maintenance, repair and general upkeep of all public and guest room areas of the hotel. Maintenance uses his/her knowledge of basic electrical mechanical systems to trouble shoot maintain and repair building systems and equipment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance position will complete maintenance and repairs to the building and its systems efficiently and cost effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Repairs and maintenance to all equipment and property throughout the hotel;
- Change lights, electrical sockets, ballasts, switches, heaters and controls throughout the hotel.
- Make minor repairs to plumbing systems.
- Snow Removal
- Carpentry repairs in common areas and exterior.
- Paint and paint touch ups on both interior and exterior.
- Diagnose larger repairs and liaison with General Manager to hire approved contractors
- Accountable for time and materials used for projects and able to invoice correctly.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous hotel maintenance position preferred and an asset
- Thorough knowledge of all hand and power tools and basic understanding of plumbing, electrical and carpentry is required
- Basic first aid ticket and prior training in WHMIS an asset
- Ability to use sound judgement and make sound recommendations
- Strong organizational skills
- Completion of a recognized pool maintenance course

- Strong work ethic, punctuality, flexibility, professional appearance is essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to complete daily pool tasks including chemical testing and pool cleaning; backwash, vacuuming, skimming

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Fast paced rapidly growing environment, must be able to work under pressure
- Responsibilities frequently require an adjusted work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet hotel operating demands
- Physically fit, able to lift up to 50lbs

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour
