We are seeking an experienced cook to join our professional and passionate team in our Childcare Centre. The YMCA of Saskatoon is a not-for-profit provider of licensed child care in Canada and we have been making a positive difference in our community by providing quality childcare for over 40 years

**In this role, you will**:

- Be responsible for daily planning, preparation and delivery of wholesome and nutritious foods prepared according to Health Regulations and Canada’s Food Guide in consultation with the Supervisor.
- Follow a 4 week menu rotation ensuring adequate variety, adherence to allergy/diet restrictions of children and ensuring that all preparation is peanut free.
- Be responsible for purchasing of food and supplies need to complete food preparation/serving and ensuring that budgets are adhered to.
- Ensure that the centre is exceeding all cleaning standards and is well maintained.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- To act as professional role models for children, volunteers, students and fellow staff members.
- To work together as an integral part of team that meets the social, emotional and physical needs of all children in the childcare program.
- Participate in YMCA trainings, workshops, meetings and childcare events.
- Other duties as assigned by the Childcare Supervisor.

**Education/Training/Qualifications**

Food Handler Safety Certification

Experience in food preparation/serving

Food Safe Certificate and 2 years experience in food preparation

High School Diploma

Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification prior to the first day of work

**General Qualifications**:

- experience working with young children
- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending, standing for long periods of time
- Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned work
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
