We are seeking an Inventory Control person with prior experience in the perishables/food distribution industry to join our dynamic operations team. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you are a people person with a firm but fair attitude who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and get to the bottom of a problem. You are detail-oriented, energetic and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where there is never a dull moment. **Core Role Objectives** In concert with purchasing, he/she monitors the accuracy of all inventory levels resolving errors when required. Develop and implement policies, procedures and best practices for the purpose of maintaining accurate inventory information and to ensure that product movement flows seamlessly across the operations. The role requires the identification of any deficiencies in the existing inventory management system and execution of correctional recommendations. **Duties & Responsibilities** - Analyze inventory failures. Determine the root cause and implement steps to prevent failures in the future. - Implement strategies such as cycle counting to keep inventory quantities accurate. Develop processes for dumping products. - Perform Inventory reconciliation including balancing lots on a regular basis. Adjust inventory levels when errors are found including finding root cause of inaccuracies. - Maintain accurate inventory by conducting regular physical counts throughout the year, cycle counting and transaction strategies (transfers, dumping, regrading, etc.) to ensure that inventory numbers are as accurate as possible. - Document - counting, regrading, etc. inventory process to ensure that all processes and procedures are clearly defined and understood across the organization. - Transacting inventory: Responsible to process inventory adjustments re: dumping, cycle - Develop key metrics on inventory control and report to management on a regular basis - Assist in other functions when required. **Knowledge & Skills Required**: - Post secondary diploma in business management preferred and 3 years prior experience in inventory analysis in Distribution/Wholesale or Perishable Goods industries. - Strong attention to detail. - Strong problem solving skills and able to create and implement solutions to challenges in an expedient manner. - Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with others within the organization. - Proficiency with MS Office - A positive team-oriented attitude. - Fluent in English.
