**DAIRY HERD MANAGER**
As a large dairy farm near St Marys ON, we have a team of people that help us take care of our 650+ milking cow herd + young stock. If you are the leader that can handle this many animals and people, we are looking for you. As a manager you'll work in a team, be responsible for all the cow care and help direct junior staff.

**Qualifications**:
Previous experience (min 3-5 years) as a dairy herdsperson or livestock management
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices and herd management techniques
- Previous experience with management of junior staff
- Knowledge of AI
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and basic repairs of farm machinery
- Proficient in driving tractor and skid steers
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor as required in a farm environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a team

**Duties**:

- Oversee the daily operations of the herd, ensuring the health and well-being of all animals
- Manage and coordinate breeding programs, including artificial insemination and
vaccination schedules
- Monitor feed and nutrition programs to ensure optimal herd performance
- Maintain accurate records of herd inventory, health, and production data on paper and
computer
- Coordinate with veterinarians and other specialists as needed for herd health issues
- Oversee the calving process and provide assistance when necessary
- Train, coach and direct junior staff
- Help with harvest by driving tractor

You must be eligible to work in Canada.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $23.00-$27.62 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- St. Marys, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
