**Southwire Job Description**:
In support of OPS culture, the Corporate Safety & Health Manager’s responsibilities consist of providing resource support for the safety and health requirements of the Canadian & Novinium (Services) locations perform day-to-day safety and health responsibilities to comply with those regulatory requirements, as well as providing direction for company directive Safety & Health initiatives using OPS principles.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create synergy and support the Safety & Health and OPS culture. Develop and monitor effective Safety & Health management strategies, provide recommendations and technical expertise on regulatory compliance.
- Provide direction and support to achieve zero recordable incidents through behavioral based safety, injury free events (IFEs), safety interactions, human performance principles, hazard identification/elimination, work practice controls, employee engagement and other company directive preventive safety initiatives.
- Audit and monitor activities to insure all safety and health regulatory requirements are being met. Provide effective safety communication and liaison support between employees, facility management, and federal, state, & local regulatory agencies.
- Drive and execute a comprehensive multi-year strategy to continue the company’s drive toward zero injuries. This includes safety, and occupational health and process safety. The strategy focuses on both technical systems/standards, leadership, behavioral, and cultural aspects.
- Ensure the construction, expansion and other production operational changes have appropriate permits as required. Coordinate resources to ensure Safety & Health aspects and requirements, including legal requirements.

**Long Description**:

- Lead and oversee the 4DX, Safety - Lean Optima, operational audit programs to assure compliance in EHS.
- Conduct and or coordinate Safety & Health inspections and assessments to assure compliance with regulatory requirements, Key Performance Measures (KPIs) expectations, identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Procure and maintain records, data, or information necessary to prepare internally or externally required reports, respond to agency requests. Prepare and submit timely reports and responses to informational requests.
- Conduct incident investigations including root cause analysis for corrective action. Train management, personnel on incident investigations and proper documentation. Measure plant performance, benchmarking against best in class manufacturing.
- Serve as the Emergency Response Coordinator and or assist with the coordination of the emergency response activities for the facilities as needed.
- Responsible for initiating, formalizing and providing Safety & Health various training programs for plant personnel.
- Further develop, implement, and sustain a systemized safety & health program that ensures the Canadian & Novinium (Services) locations meets company standards and initiatives.
- Ensures analysis of waste streams are completed as dictated by facility permits.
- Conducts required inspections of universal and hazardous waste accumulation sites.
- Lead compliance efforts with waste management, EPCRA, storm water, and spill prevention
- Support Canadian & Novinium (Services) locations in the development and maintenance of Safety & Health systems, OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), ISO and similar.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, industrial safety or business administration
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing and 5+ years’ safety experience in general industry Industrial safety management experience prefe
