**DEPARTMENT MANAGER - GROCERY**

The Department Manager - Grocery oversees the daily operations of the Grocery area, ensuring that it is efficiently staffed, stocked and shining. This dynamic role will lead the growth and development of this department in our Langley location in order to create a second to none customer experience for our guests.

The Grocery Department Manager is responsible for the overall appearance, efficiency, and profitability of the Grocery department.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:

- A passion for organic food and natural medicine and love of the retail and grocery industry
- Strong, effective leadership skills
- Excellent communication skill and customer service skills
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management/supervisor role
- Previous retail experience in a fast paced, customer centric environment
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends
- You're a people focused leader who is able to direct the work of others but are always able to work as part of a team and foster a positive work environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure

**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
- Manage the day-to-day operations and performance of the Grocery Department team, including setting direction for daily tasks, providing in the moment coaching to team members, and taking a hands-on approach to leadership within the department to empower your team to excel
- Set the standard of customer service expected from all Grocery team members and actively work with the management team to meet standards of operations
- Managing inventory and writing orders to ensure adequate stock levels for department while reducing food waste
- Assist in preparation of inventory and sales budgets
- Analyze profit and loss statements and recommend improvements to meet department goals including monitoring department sales
- With support of the Store Manager, manage the human resource components of the team including hiring, performance evaluations, and coaching and performance conversations
- Ensure collaborative interaction between all team members
- Collaborate with other managers and corporate teams to provide new ideas and feedback as well as to execute brand wide initiatives
