**Our Surveyors**:

- Engage with respondents/members of the public by administering telephone surveys to capture transportation information and travel patterns for households around the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) and surrounding areas;
- Secure accurate and valid information for the survey completions required;
- Represent the company with a matched value for excellence, professionalism, quality, integrity and efficiency; provides consistent attention to detail, interpersonal leadership and communication skills, dynamic energy and sense of dedication to the administrative data collection work our company provides;
- Are eligible for a daily transit allowance when travelling to the office for work.

**Job Information**:
**This is research only and does not involve making any sales/telemarketing calls.** Positions offered within our Etobicoke call centre are contracted with shifts and hours that vary. Primarily, the scheduled hours available are for evenings and weekends with most shifts running Tuesday through Saturday. The Transportation Tomorrow Survey (TTS) surveyor positions are ideal for individuals seeking part-time employment, as well as post-secondary students seeking work to supplement their income and gain experience working in social sciences research. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Calling members of the public to administer a survey which gathers information needed to inform Malatest’s transportation research;
- Obtaining a targeted number of survey completions required per shift;
- Efficiently and accurately entering and coding the origin/destination data gathered through data collection efforts, with an understanding of the Greater Golden Horseshoe and surrounding areas;
- Maintaining and securing accurate information according to Malatest project training, established policies, procedures and requirements;
- Providing support to reception for coverage of incoming calls.

**Qualifications**:
**This position reports directly to the onsite Manager and Supervisor(s) of the Survey House of R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd.**
- Completion of high school; preferably with post-secondary education in the social sciences, information management, business administration, geography, transportation planning, geographic information systems, or other field related to customer service or research;
- Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills;
- High level of integrity required to handle confidential and/or sensitive information;
- Typing (35+ wpm), computer familiarity and excellent verbal communication skills are essential.
- Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing system (CATI) or survey/call centre experience would be an asset;
- The ability to self-start, initiate, motivate and organize in a timely manner, in order to meet deadlines and adjust or adapt to changing project task priorities;
- Strong time management, flexibility, and computer/telephone usage skills;
- Familiarity with the geography and local neighbourhoods within the Greater Golden Horseshoe (and surrounding areas) and the ability to use Google maps quickly and efficiently;
- As a condition of employment, our research project contracts, staff members are required to adhere to Malatest privacy, security, confidentiality and quality assurance standards;
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and obtain any required security clearances with the Industrial Security Directorate Division of Public Works and Government Services Canada;
- Other security checks may be required, depending on the tasks and responsibilities assigned;

**Working Conditions**:
Surveyors will engage in active, fast-paced, and sometimes strenuous conversations to accurately complete as many surveys as possible within tight timelines. Surveyor staff will sit for long periods of time during assigned shifts. Must have good communication skills (converse or engage easily with the public) and be able to get to
and from the office punctually. An attention to detail will ensure accurate information is collected. A Surveyor must be able to work for the duration of this temporary work project contract. Mandatory project training is provided and is a necessary prerequisite to work effectively on this project.
