**Laboratory Technician - Agriculture**

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in a science program.

**Responsibilities**:
This position will be responsible for performing testing services and operations based on specific analytical requirements that may include regional and international analysis. Special emphasis will be placed on domestic soil, plant, fertilizer, manure, feed and related industry niche markets. The following responsibilities may include some or all of the following or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the department manager.
- Provide hands on bench top analysis for customer samples.
- Provide detailed support to testing and help develop customized customer support services using various media.
- Works under established ISO 17025 and or GLP quality systems.
- Establish and manage day to day tasks.
- Identify bottle necks and assist in streamlining operations.
- Ensure data is released in a timely manner and accordance with turnaround times.
- Maintain analytical equipment to ensure operational requirements are met.
- Works in accordance with company policies/regulations including health and safety policies.
- Follows up, identifies and communicates incidents that require immediate attention within the division.
- Ensures analysis is performed without delay.
- Provides leadership to junior technicians.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**Competencies**:

- Familiar with laboratory procedures.
- Familiar QA/QC protocol and GLP.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Customer focused and can work with mínimal supervision
- High energy and will be willing to work extended hours when required.
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical Thinker
- Familiar with basic lab equipment
- Knowledge of farm practices and terminology is an asset.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
