**Job Summary**: Assists the kitchen supervisor with the production in the gourmet kitchen.

**Job Duties**
- Places finished products into the appropriate coolers for shipping
- Performs the final mixing and assembly of kitchen products
- Responsible for entering ingredient lot numbers and best before dates on recipes
- Retrieves raw materials and equipment from freezer/stockroom for production
- Ensures product quality and consistency
- Prepares raw materials for production in the gourmet kitchen
- Packs and weighs salads
- Cleans and cuts vegetables for production
- Assists in final production of finished goods
- Cleaning of dishes, equipment, machinery and floors
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, (operating tilt fryers, steam kettles, Hobart mixers and oven, etc).
- Use of knives
- May also assist in other departments
- Responsible to operate within the health and safety guidelines
- Other duties as required by management

**Requirements**:

- Comfortable working with raw meat products (beef, pork, chicken)
- Knife skills are a strong asset
- Ability to stand and perform repetitive work for extended periods of time
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Comfortable with assisting other departments as necessary

**Working Conditions and Environment**
- Meat packaging and food manufacturing plant
- Physically demanding and fast paced work environment
- Early morning start (6 am Monday to Friday)
- Refrigerated (cold) environment
- Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
