Our Tower Crane Operator is responsible for operating tower cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment at construction sites, working closely with site supervisors, riggers, and other construction workers to ensure that all lifting operations are conducted safely and efficiently. Role will also involve performing routine maintenance checks on the crane, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Work within a team environment and support a sound company safety culture at Westrich
- Operate tower cranes to lift, move, and position materials and equipment
- Collaborate with site supervisors, riggers, and other construction workers
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and maintain accurate records of operations and maintenance
- Inspect crane and work area for any potential hazards
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with crane
- Ensure all lifting operations are conducted safely and efficiently
- Assist with setup and dismantling of crane
- Operate equipment in various weather conditions
- Monitor load weights and ensure they do not exceed crane capacity
- Report all accidents or incidents immediately
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Comply with all local, provincial and federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Skills and Abilities**
- Strong understanding of crane operations and safety protocols
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and load charts
- Mechanical skills for routine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to work with a variety of people in a team environment.
- Ability to work within a team and independently.
- Demonstrate organizational and time management skills in order to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
- Positive attitude and a commitment to safety

**Required Certificates**:

- Journeyman Crane Operator certification
- Fall arrest

**Rate will depend on experience**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 44 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- Journeyman: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Journeyman qualifications (required)
