**What is the opportunity?**
- The role is available in the following provinces: Ontario, New-Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Manitoba and Prince Edward Island._

**What will you do?**
- Adjudicate claims by utilizing a multidisciplinary claim management model to ensure objective, fair and thorough claim adjudication, while complying with policy provisions, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Provide the highest level of customer service and manage reputational risk
- Manage a large caseload of disability claims, calculate benefit payments and implement claims management and return to work strategies, where warranted
- Professionally communicate approval or denial decisions to clients
- Given the very sensitive nature of the information gathered in the adjudication process, extreme care must be exercised in the handling of a claim in order to guard against any breach of confidentiality
- Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close

**What will you need to succeed?**

**Must-have**
- Post-secondary education, preferably in healthcare or related field, or related work experience
- Fluency in English, both oral and written
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to multitask and balance multiple goals and priorities
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills with the ability to communicate complex and difficult information with professionalism and empathy, including phone calls with client who may be emotional or have mental health conditions
- Ability to work independently in a structured environment, with proven time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to meet the technological and confidentiality requirements of the role (i.e., private and quiet space, Internet connectivity, etc.)

**Nice-to-have**
- Ability to effectively manage change
- Proven disability claims experience, ideally in Group Disability Claims
