Now Hiring - Specialist Business Operations - Extended Hours

Reporting to the Manager, Extended-Hours Business Operations, the Specialist, Extended-Hours Business Operations is accountable for ensuring complete and timely processing as well support for 15-20 CDCC participants/members in areas such as:

- Margin and collateral processing (cash and securities);
- Settlement & clearing including End of day final settlements with payment processing;
- Main contacts for Customer Support needs during the overnight clearing cycles;
- IT processing.- Key Accountabilities-
- Maintain Collateral Requirements, collecting Collateral to satisfy the margin calls via securities pledge or cash, leading customers’ return of excess funds;
- Perform a daily Cash Reconciliation of the various currency accounts with CDCC Settlement Banks;
- Ensure successful completion of the end of day settlement process including payment processing;
- Ensure participants/members meet their trade settlement obligations;
- Support the Montreal Exchange with participant trade corrections or adjustments;
- Act as the point of contact for matters related to Collateral/Banking/Clearing/Settlements to ensure effective and efficient client support is provided to all Members;
- Provide guidance and solutions to internal teams and external clients;
- Support the Business Continuity Program, Disaster Recovery Program, Default Simulation and other testing exercises;
- Interact with Internal and External Audit, Regulators as well as internal departments;
- Adhere rigorously to internal procedures, rules, audit requirements and internal controls verification processes;
- Recommend changes to existing processes, services and procedures to ensure excellent customer service, and that we operate in an efficient and effective environment.
- Lead and assist with projects and special assignments.- Education / Experience-
- Post-Secondary education in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, and/or Accounting is preferred;
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the Securities Financial Industry;
- Solid experience/knowledge in Operations processes or Securities Accounting in the Securities Financial Industry.- Skills-
- Effective listening, written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced technical and analytical skills and ability to propose operational solutions and solve moderately complex problems specific to a project or assignment
- Solid interpersonal and organization skills with the demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision, as well as a teammate
- Oriented to deliver with accuracy and clear & concise details in a time sensitive environment
- Advanced level of technical and analytical knowledge regarding Collateral, Banking and Clearing/Settlements processes, systems and capabilities
