**About the role**
- As a member of the Biology team, you will be instrumental in helping with the operation of the Biology Lab. The technician will be engaged primarily in technical work when preparing labs for lab supervisors and ensuring that all equipment and supplies are in sufficient quantity and working order. As the highest ranked technician in the department, you will be involved in administrative work by assigning and overseeing the work of other technicians. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the labs are incompliance with all safety legislations including WHIMIS and biosafety certifications. We are looking for someone to help us continue operate the biology lab and facilitating exceptional experiences for our employee and student community. You will work with a team of talented individuals an engaged community and an impactful executive team.

**ILLUSTRATIVE**EXAMPLES** OF**DUTIES**
- Prepares all materials including student handouts, and sets-up classrooms, studios and laboratory experiments and demonstrations and liaises with faculty to accomplish this.
- Assigns and oversees the work of other technicians working in the department.
- Supporting the development of online labs.
- Work closely with the coordinator and lab convenor of the department to assist with administrative tasks including scheduling of labs, capital replacement and financial decisions pertaining to the operation of labs.

- Experience with cell culture and microbiology
