Job Summary: The Assistant Caretaker is responsible for assisting the Resident Building Manager with the daily operations tasks for the property, to deliver a quiet and enjoyable experience for the residents.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience, or someone willing to lend their knowledge and/or experience to help build strong systems.

The primary goals are to assist residents with inquiries, update strata records, facilitate contractor access to the buildings, and cleaning and maintenance activities are completed with issues reported to the Resident Building Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain a professional, positive relationship with residents.
- Approach each situation with a willingness to learn, an attention to detail, common sense, and safety is always top-of-mind.
- Work cooperatively with onsite staff, contractors, strata manager, and Strata Council.
- Respond to emergencies promptly.
- Review maintenance requests from residents and provide assistance, record, and follow up with the Resident Building Manager or contractors as required.
- Ensure building records, logs, and inventory lists are updated daily.
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of lobbies, entrances and other common spaces.
- Inspect lighting and doors around the complex to ensure proper operations.
- Ensure parkade is kept free from debris.
- Inspect mechanical, electrical and utility rooms for leaks, cleanliness, and other issues.
- Daily Pool Maintenance.
- Assist Resident Building Managers with fire safety inspections.
- Maintain the appearance and safety of the exterior grounds, addressing minor issues and advising the Resident Building Manager as required.
- Delivering notices to residents.
- Reporting and addressing bylaw infractions in a cordial and respectful manner.
- Help the Resident Building Manager with the coordination of contractor and resident activities.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.50-$24.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- Cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
- janitorial: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
