**Your day to day activities will include**:
- Manage the planning, scheduling and execution of the production schedule including daily delegation of tasks to the Packers to meet product demand
- Manage the reception, handling, and storage of all freight, product, and supplies that come in and out of the warehouse
- Ensure all bagged production orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules
- Supervise a team of Packing and Warehouse employees, including delegation, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions
- Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties
- Maintain strict control over inventory levels to meet internal and external demand of product
- Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment; identify discrepancies with inventory levels and recommend and implement corrective actions
- Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization
- Take into account full implications of freight turnover, size, weight, and other factors when allocating warehouse space
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and/or hazardous materials
- Assess the need for, and arrange the purchase of, moving equipment such as trailers, forklifts, crash pads and dollies
- Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; make adjustments where necessary
- Implement and monitor performance metrics for shipping and receiving
- 5 - 7 years of experience in distribution/logistics or a packing/warehousing environment
- Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in the manufacturing food industry
- Post-Secondary education in a related field, along with evidence of continued learning (i.e. P.Log certification or other business certification)
- 5 years of experience in a Supervisory role is preferred
- Working knowledge of operations, milling, and packing processes
- Working knowledge of quality control practices and BRC regulations
- Knowledge of HACCP guidelines
- Maintenance/mechanical knowledge
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Team leadership and teambuilding abilities
