Position Summary
Research Coordinator II - Research and Innovation
Your goal in this position is to perform research activities and assist in study administration. You will be required to have the ability to adhere to research protocol and work with study coordinators and investigators to carry out various aspects of conducting a clinical trial. You will need to be meticulous and capable of independent decision making with study data. You have excellent attention to detail and proven ability to learn new skills. You also have superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload, as well as good personal and program time/detail management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be flexible to work beyond the job description at times as work demands. You will exercise flexibility in working hours to adjust for weekend and/or off hour requirements. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.
On a practical level, you will
Assist investigators in the interpretation and implementation of study protocols
Assist investigators in initiation of new research and interpretation and implementation of study Protocols
Prepare REB submissions and consent form design and revisions relative to the initiation and conduct of individual studies
Interact with various departments such as pharmacy, laboratories, medical records, etc.
If applicable, assessment of potential serious adverse events and notification of study sponsor, physician and appropriate authorities
Oversee the collection and transcription of study-related data and/or reviewing data previously transcribed by other research staff and directly handle collection, transcription and entry of study related data when necessary
Administer consent forms and study assessments to participants
**Qualifications**:
Bachelor of Science
5 years related research experience
As applicable, knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, GCP (HPB, FDA) regulation and guidelines, laboratory and diagnostic testing, health record analysis
Computer skills including Word Perfect, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, database and statistical software.
Experience with neurological conditions and administering cognitive testing is an asset
Bilingualism in French/English an asset
