SSI’s treatments have been published in professional journals and textbooks, and we are involved in the training of students and Speech-Language Pathologists across the province.

**Job Introduction**

The Speech Program Team Lead is a full-time, multi-faceted position that includes administrative, staff development, clinical service, and professional training responsibilities. SSI’s speech program services children with speech sound and motor speech disorders. A key role of the position is to ensure quality and efficiency in the delivery of SSI’s clinical services. Compensation is $70k—$80k per annum plus bonus and benefits. This role can be contract or contract to full-time transition.

**Duties**:

- Evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapy to patients with various communication disorders
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care
- Maintain detailed patient records and progress reports

**Skills**:

- _**Clinical Services**_ (3-4 days per week)
- Provide assessment, treatment, and consultation services for children with speech production and/or motor speech difficulties (both in-person and virtually)
- Provide service based on client needs, best practice, and SSI service pathways/models
- Clinical caseload will vary depending on the waiting list and involvement in other projects/activities such as Training or Program Development
- **Administrative**_ (approximately 4 hours/week)
- Review program referrals, manage wait lists and coordinate regular team meetings
- Collect program statistics for quarterly and annual reports
- Participate in the review, development and implementation of program processes, piloting of new services, procedures, and forms to ensure program quality and efficiency
- **Staff Development & Professional Training**_ (approximately 3 hours/week)
- Provide new staff with mentorship and an orientation to program policies/procedures
- Option to participate in the development and/or delivery of professional training workshops (clinical caseload will be adjusted based on the time required for each workshop)

**Knowledge, Education & Work Experience**
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology
- Registration with CASLPO
- Minimum 5 - 10 years clinical experience in the assessment and management of speech sound disorders including motor speech disorders
- Experience or interest in delivering professional presentations
- Experience training/mentoring SLPs and/or SLP students

**Skills and Competencies**
- Excellent clinical skills and familiarity with assessment, identification, and the range of interventions/approaches for speech sound disorders including motor speech disorders including PROMPT
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Works collaboratively as a member of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills: professional manner, develops positive relationships internally and externally
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Completion of successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check
