**Summary**
As a Financial Analyst - Group Benefits, you will be integral to our group benefits consulting team, working closely with our employee benefit consultants in various capacities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide assistance to our benefit consultants, in the form of independent analysis, reporting, managing client inquiries, and booklet and contract review. Utilizing core skills in analytics, grammar, information technology, and Microsoft Excel, you will provide valuable contributions to our team, working in a highly collaborative environment. Your specific duties will include the following:
- Independent analysis and negotiations of group insurance renewals provided by insurance carriers.
- Perform basic underwriting functions associated with manual and experience rating.
- Analyze information on industry, past claim history, financial conditions and other criteria.
- Provide support to Employee Benefit Consultants in all aspects related to obtaining new business and managing an existing block of clients.
- Manage assigned workload to meet internal productivity and time service standards.
- Effectively communicate decisions or additional requirements and rating results to Employee Benefit Consultants.
- Analyzes information on industry, demographics, and other standard criteria.
- Supports the identification and development of best practices workflows and procedures.
- Builds effective relationships with Employee Benefit Consultants and clients, as needed.
- Participates in special projects as business needs require.
- Ensures timely and accurate financial tracking.
- Adheres to quality, authority and documentation guidelines.
**Qualifications**
- Expertise and understanding of the Group Benefits industry including funding and underwriting arrangements.
- Prior group underwriting experience would be an asset.
- Advanced analytical and mathematical skills, strategic planning, communication, and listening skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and provide deliverables as identified in a timely manner.
- Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.
- Proficiency with Excel.
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer Service Orientation.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
