**Reporting to the Assistant Controller for Dufferin Construction, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for**:

- Execute month-end activities for closing the accounting periods in a timely manner.
- Review routine and complex business transactions to identify relevant accounting and reporting issues.
- Validate financial and non-financial data and resolve any issues to ensure alignment between all financial systems.
- Analyze monthly results and provide commentary explaining the variances against forecast, budget, and prior year performance.
- Compile monthly reports and presentations for senior management.
- Assist in preparation of forecasts, budget, and strategic plans.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of budgets and forecasts to assist in management's review and decision making.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and presentations, and support management on any ad-hoc financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting principles, internal control SOX requirements, and CRH Central Service standards.
- Contribute to improvements in accounting and reporting policies and procedures.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Business Administration or Commerce and/or a combination of relevant work experience.
- Professional designation (CPA, CFA - or in the process) is considered an asset.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manipulate large data sets demonstrate critical thinking in producing various analyses and tables, as well as develop charts/graphs in both Excel and PowerPoint.
- SAP, Viewpoint, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management or Oracle Hyperion Planning experience preferred.
- Proven understanding of financial statements, and proven knowledge of financial analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to self-review.
- Ability to adapt to versatile deliverables/analyses and demonstrate logic/reasoning.
- Exhibit strong time management skills, ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment with ad-hoc deliverables.
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Desire to learn and be involved in a variety of ad-hoc projects and changing reporting needs.
- Previous Construction Accounting experience is considered an asset.
