Junior Project Manager

The Junior Project Manager provides day to day support to the internal Project Manager and studio, and is responsible for managing assigned tasks/projects throughout the creative and adaptive process from inception through to completion, striving to achieve the highest quality of work whilst managing timelines.
- Drives projects forward, maintaining ownership of each task, and feeding back information to the stakeholders at every stage.
- Confirms the scope of each task, and then prioritizes tasks to ensure all projects are well organized and completed efficiently whilst allowing flexibility.
- Monitors workflow on assigned projects, across multiple disciplines, interacting with creative, account management, production departments and external suppliers where required to implement efficient project plans.
- Monitors project teams with a goal of a balance of quality and creativity, constantly flagging any potential issues to the appropriate parties.
- Upholds the integrity of the design process, providing push back when necessary.
- Supports briefing new projects into the studio as required.
- Maintains a project status report throughout the day. Attends/holds weekly status meetings with the Onsite team as required.
- Acts as central liaison point between Onsites, and the Studio Teams in all matters during project execution.
- Builds, manages and maintains internal project schedules ensuring project/program deadlines are met.
- Reviews and validates mandatory project information required prior to design kick-off or prior to schedule job in studio.
- Books rooms, meetings and secures resources required in advance with MarCom scheduler/Project Manager.
- Verifies information is accurate on design briefs, layouts, and specifications received from the Onsite and/or client.
- Gathers dielines, copy, packaging specs, any assets and reference materials to complete Design work.
- Places all documents within the assigned folder structure on the server.
- May need to work in a project management tool to download information from client and writes up projects into job information system, uploads pdfs into project management tool and routes with client.
- Acts as a liaison between the studio and onsite team to obtain missing information and materials.
- Writes up revisions once consolidated by Onsite team.
- Checks all design work to ensure design has been executed to the client brief prior to releasing artwork for approval.
- Schedules and constantly evaluate priorities design projects within the studio.
- Assists in identifying areas of improvement to the design process. Works with Project Manager to creatively present and implement solutions.
- Audits folder structure and archives projects upon completion.
**Critical Skills and Behaviors**
- Highly flexible. Highly organized. Great attention to detail.
- Understanding of Shopper Marketing, POS, print, Market Communications retail design, preferrable with minimum 1 year of experience in agency environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Client service skills and ability to deal effectively with difficult client situations.
- Proven team player.
- Ability to multi-task in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Skilled notetaker, ability to capture meeting notes with clear actionable next.
**Prerequisites**
- Completion of post secondary university or college degree, preferably in graphics, communication management and/or design or similar.
