As a Data Strategist, you will lead and influence business intelligence products and data governance procedures for Water Services. You will provide the tactical information needed to implement and evaluate strategic programs by collecting, cleansing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to inform decision making. Primary duties include:
- Create and update Business Intelligence (BI) products.
- Monitor of quality of data and data flow pipeline related to the BI products and action any issues.
- Design and implement metrics that monitor operational indicators against strategic goals, evaluate the impact of business changes, conduct analysis and present results.
- Work with Information Technology (IT) and business unit Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop data-related requirements and design solutions to meet their needs.
- Provide data-related advisory services for project initiatives; act as the primary resource for projects that impact BI products.
- Act as a SME on**best data practices, data governance and strategy, and how we use information to evolve our decision-making at tactical**and strategic levels.
- Build and evaluate data architecture and systems. Connect across teams,**systems, data sets to support a strategic data ecosystem across the Water Utility.
- Conduct research and analysis on data best practices for the Utility.
- Develop and support a Data Strategy for the Utility.
**Qualifications**
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in areas such as data analysis and modeling for reporting programs.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI and Structured Query Language (SQL) is required.
- Experience developing and supporting a Data Strategy and Data Governance framework.
- Experience eliciting business and technical requirements related to data management with a focus on identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Success in this position requires strong communication skills, sound decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving, and the ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships.

5 day work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
